BIO

Cecilia is a Visual artist who was born in Moura, Portugal in 1988.

She was raised in the vibrant city of Macao, between 1993 and 2004.

Growing up, Cecilia was always drawn to art, and she spent much of her free time experimenting with different forms of creative expression and attended different workshops including bronze engraving, linoleum, watercolor, art and crafts, ceramic painting...

She was exposed to the beauty and diversity of art in exhibitions in Macao Cultural Center where her mother worked, she was encouraged to express herself through various mediums.

These experiences have allowed her to expand her artistic vocabulary and bring a diverse range of styles to her work.

Her passion for the craft never waned. Instead, she taught herself how to draw, paint and create, by practicing and using the resources she had available to her: books, tutorials, workshops, and experimenting.

Cecilia began to experiment with different styles and techniques, eventually developing a unique artistic voice that blended traditional and modern influences. Her work is known for its bold use of color and texture, as well as its evocative and emotionally resonant subject.

Cecilia's love of nature is a major source of inspiration for her art. She is constantly awed by the intricate beauty of the natural world and finds endless inspiration in the shapes, forms, colors, and textures that surround her.

Cecilia's has a degree in Visual Arts and Multimedia, where she immersed herself in a spectrum of artistic disciplines. This education crafted her unique perspective on visual communication, blending traditional artistry with modern digital techniques. Since then, Cecilia has been working as a graphic designer and illustrator for various companies.

Cecilia’s artistic process is guided by dreams, intuition, and images that form internally before taking shape on the surface. Her works emerge from imagined landscapes and emotional impressions, gradually constructed through layers, movement, and texture. Deeply inspired by nature, she draws from the colors, rhythms, and transformations of the natural world, particularly the shifting light and tones of the changing seasons and the sea, sky, Alentejo landscape. These elements inform a visual language that is both instinctive and reflective, inviting viewers into a space between memory, perception, and abstraction.

In 2023, she was invited to participate in live painting at Boom Festival. After completing the work, it was presented as part of a group exhibition.

In 2024, Cecilia became a mother, an experience that deeply transformed her personal and artistic perspective. In 2025, she returned to her practice with renewed clarity and emotional depth. That same year, she presented a new body of work in an solo exhibition reflecting this period of transformation.

Cecilia also works as an art educator, teaching watercolor in group classes, oil painting classes, and workshops for children.
